KATE THE GREAT

Whilst we froze and bundled up in Uggs, scarves, coats, you name it last night, all the way over in La La Land…the Golden Globes were in full swing, and the stars were working the red carpet. Kate Winslet rocked both her unairbrushed globes in a fabulous black strapless Yves Saint Laurent dress and Chopard jewels. I think she should have changed dresses in between winning her awards. As I sit her on my shoot in Plateau restaurant in Canary Wharf, Enzo my hair and make-up artist, and I, are disecting the trends from last night.

TRENDS
On the dress front the ladies were f-rocking two looks: strapless or fishtail. Salma Hayek in Bottega Venetta, Ann Hathaway in a bit of a too old fashioned Armani dress, all did strapless. Drew Barrymore in Dior and big Monroe hair did the best fishtail dress look, followed by Eva Longoria – mind you how did the pint sized actress swan about in that floor sweeping Reem Akra number?

WORST DRESSED
Renee Zellweger gets worst dressed gong in her odd almost see-through black fishtail Carolina Herrera number…and what was up with her hair?? And Mickey Rourke in red velvet Gucci slippers…should have stayed in bed looking like that.

HAIR
On the good-hair-day front , chignon’s were in. Scraped back and elegant like Winslet or tousled and sexy like Eva Mendes. "To attain trend of up-hair do’s, put mousse into dry hair to give texture, and then proceed to put hair up in a chignon", says Enzo.  Failing that it was long glossy locks a la Angelina Jolie. Mind you with Brad Pitt in a Tom Ford suit on your arm you can get away with fashion murder…

TRUE PROFESSIONAL
Thank you to Susan Sarandon who very kindly read out her list to the tv camera of what she was wearing – Hugo Boss – makes our jobs soooo much easier…
