Trendy hair cuts 2009

Cropped bob was ruling all through 2008 with many A-listers cutting their hair shorter and setting this trend on and off the red carpet. As for the upcoming 2009, generally, the trends will remain similar with slight changes added to the overall tendency. In short, forget about bob, try something more extreme – extremely short, extremely girly, extremely sexual or extremely slick.

Miley Cyrus ’80 style

Miley Cyrus, a 16-year-old Disney starlet, has brought back the style of the 1980s in the third season of Hannah Montana.

Those tiered miniskirts, leopard prints and fingerless gloves look pretty well on the young girl and I guess they will soon become extremely popular among girls of her age because if Hanna wears something it immediately becomes a teen fashion.

According to costume designer, Dalhia Foroutan, the retro look was created mostly for Miley’s on-stage persona Hannah to wear, but hints of the ’80s have been used in most of the cast’s wardrobe.

Some of the outfits designs were taken from Madonna’s Lucky Star and Like a Virgin days. But the look that influenced the kid’s style the most was that Madonna’s careless look that people of those days remember clearly well.

Foroutan says:

I didn’t like her (Madonna) so much in the ’80s, but looking back, she was so new and different and she really influenced fashion in the ’80s. I respect her for that”.

Beyonce’s Bold Fashion Choice: “She Looked Fantastic”

Beyonce Knowles is known for her glamorous wardrobe choice, tending to glittering gowns, curve-hugging minis and elegant creations from Armani for her many red carpet events.

Which is why we did a double take when the singer turned up at the MTV Europe Awards in not one, but two dresses from notoriously edgy British designer Gareth Pugh.

Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter tells PEOPLE, “Gareth Pugh’s work is explosive and she had to wear it.

She thinks he is an amazing talent.” The young Brit is a master of dark, almost-goth looks with incredible architectural details. Beyonce’s performance dress, which is made of elastic bands and rows and rows of YKK zippers, first appeared on the designer’s Fall 2008 runway with matching leggings that Knowles wisely skipped.

Pugh himself tells PEOPLE, “I’m delighted she wore my dresses, she looked fantastic.” We agree, and we love that Beyonce is supporting up-and-coming young designers while trying out cool, new looks. That metallic robot glove, we’re a little less sure about

Kate Hudson and her Style at London Fashion Week

Filed under: Look of the day

Kate Hudson is seen here attending an elite fashion event at British Style Observed in an event that was auctioning off Mary McCartney’s photographs as hosted by The National Magazine Company during London Fashion Week. Mary is fashion designer extraordinaire Stella McCartney’s sister, and both are daughters of the infamous Sir Paul McCartney who also attended the event with his girlfriend Nancy Shevell.

But Kate Hudson is enough all on her own and does not require the likes of the McCartney name to land her on the Best Dressed List which is something she seems to do on a regular basis. No, Kate Hudson is a style icon in and of herself, whether she is hanging out with dear Stella, or going to the market with the main man in her life, her tyke Ryder.

This particular outfit is a perfect example of that. We saw grey very big last fall, and this year the color is still the chic color to be wearing, but Kate has taken it to a new level by wearing a dress in a metallic shade of the ‘it’ color. Metallic colors have been making a slow comeback since last summer, and you can expect to see more of them in deeper shades through the Fall and into the Winter.

The opening of the Albertti Flagship on Melrose Avenue

Nicole Richie has such impeccable style. And yes, I know Rachel Zoe started her off. But all of Rachel’s knowledge rubbed off on Nicole and now the new mom always hits it out of the park without the help of a stylist.

Here she is with Joel Madden arriving to the opening of the Albertti Flagship on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. The evening was hosted by Alberta Ferretti, Marisa Tomei and Lucy Liu.

Beyoncé Knowles black dress

Gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated Cadillac Records next month, in which she stars as the legendary Etta James, Beyoncé Knowles made a stunning appearance at a promo gig for Bloomingdale’s in NYC on Oct 28.

Lucky customers who attended the event and purchased a dress from B’s House of Dereon line at the swanky shopping mecca received an autographed copy of the soundtrack for Cadillac Records, which won’t be available to the rest of us until the movie comes out on Dec 5.

With her hubby backing her up, B’s entrepreneurial savvy just keeps getting better! For the event, Beyoncé donned a glamorous off-shoulder LBD with blue satin heels, accented with silver tear drop earrings and a sparkly black and silver cuff.

I love the balance between the sexy dress and heels and the edgy black nail polish, with one exception – what’s up with B’s roots being teased so high? I have to guess that she skipped the stylist’s chair and instead put on one of her infamous wigs. Though she’s been spotted wearing them in the past, a friend recently dished to InTouch about her well stocked collection:

"The majority of them are custom-made from real hair and she’s probably got $1 million worth of stunning wigs. It’s part of the reason why she always looks so gorgeous." So that explains it! From the way it looks in the picture, what do you think – fake or fabulous?

Kate Moss’s Christmas Collection Out !!!

I’ve been counting down the days until

Kate Moss’s Christmas ’08 collection would be available at Topshop.

The wait is finally over. Her latest collection is bursting with must-have pieces built around Kate’s usual vintage charm and rock-n-roll edge. There are plenty of ruffles, print dresses, and boho scarves for day. For night, glam capes, 1920s evening dresses, and brocade trousers mix perfectly with leather biker jackets and fur gilets. Each stunning (and affordable) piece is available at Topshop stores and www.topshop.com. FYI: If you heart sequins like I do, the line offers a blue sequin number that’s sort of a cocktail version of the gown Kate wore to her 30th b-day party. Fabulous!
